Cultural Initiatives

The "da Vinci Forums" is a quarterly series featuring thought-provoking artists, authors, and opinion-leaders speaking on culture and community. The forums are sponsored by Cultural Initiatives Silicon Valley, Community Foundation Silicon Valley and the Tech Museum of Innovation.

Cultural Initiatives extends special invitations to local business and community leaders to attend these private quarterly forums as a way to spark an informed dialogue around cultural issues facing Silicon Valley. Local leaders may also volunteer to host a da Vinci Forum at their places of business.

The inaugural da Vinci Forum in October of 2001 featured renowned urban historian, Sir Peter Hall, Professor of Planning at University College London.

Robert PinskyOn February 6th, we welcomed former Poet Laureate and contributor to the Lehrer News Hour, Robert Pinsky. Dr. Pinsky vividly demonstrated that poetry should be seen as a physical art form and described his Favorite Poems Project—every day Americans from all walks of life sharing their favorite poems.  Our next Forum will be held in May.
